On Tuesday, the 13th of March, Ambassador Marina Kaljurand and the Embassy staff visited the University of Salisbury in Maryland. They met with the University Board members, Executive Staff, Deans, faculty staff and students. Marina Kaljurand also gave a lecture about Estonia’s strategic partnership with the U.S. and the role of Estonia in today’s world.
The President of Salisbury University Janet Dudley-Eshbach was pleased to welcome Ambassador Kaljurand to the Eastern Shore and to Salisbury: “The State of Maryland enjoys close strategic relationships with Estonia, a parliamentary republic known for its strong commitment to democracy and to free markets. Estonia has a highly educated citizenry, and our campus enjoys academic partnerships with this dynamic nation. Faculty visits, cultural celebrations and a study abroad program for SU students at the Ambassador’s alma mater, the renowned University of Tartu – all complement Salisbury’s ‘Sister City’ friendship with Tartu.”
The delegation of Salisbury University is planning a visit to Estonia this June.
