On 12 May, Members of the Security Council were briefed by UN Special Envoy Griffiths, General Guha, and Under-Secretary General Lowcock about the political process and the increased risk of famine.
The Members of the Security Council set out their support for the UN Special Envoy and expressed their expectation that the Houthis meet him soon. They called for an immediate cessation of hostilities, particularly in Marib. They recalled their statement of 16 April and underscored that only a lasting ceasefire and political settlement can end the conflict and humanitarian crisis in Yemen
