A U.S. pilot of Estonian heritage killed in Vietnam was buried in Arlington today

The representatives of the Estonian Embassy in Washingtonattended today the burial ceremony of Major Aado Kommendant at ArlingtonNational Cemetery. Deputy chief of mission Tanel Sepp laid a wreath on hisgrave on behalf of the President of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves. 

Kommendant was a U.S. Air Force pilot of Estonian heritagekilled in action in Vietnam exactly 46 years ago, on August 8th 1966. Hisremains were recently found and returned to the U.S.  
He was born in Paide, Estonia in 1941 and came to the Stateswith his family in 1950. He joined the U.S. Air Force 1964.
