Estonia brings exhibiton „Let’s Hit Zero!“ to the UN, highlighting the global waste problem
From 24 February to 7 March, the Permanent Mission of Estonia to the UN is hosting an exhibition entitled „Let’s Hit Zero“ at the UN Headquarters in New York, in the Delegates’ Entrance space. The exhibition is inspired by World Cleanup Day, a global civic movement that originated from Estonia and has now been proclaimed as a UN day (20 September). The exhibition aims to raise awareness of the massive global waste problem that is holding us back from achieving the SDGs. Cleaning up waste from nature is vital, but the most important step is to prevent waste from being created in the first place. The playful design of the exhibition showcases the everyday consumption choices and introduces environmentally friendly alternatives.
Originating in Estonia, the exhibition has been proudly featured in the European Green Capital program in Tallinn and the European Capital of Culture program in Tartu, showcasing Estonia’s leadership in circular economy innovation and environmental awareness. The exhibition is organised and endorsed by Estonian NGO Lähme Nulli and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia. In March the exhibition will travel to other locations in North America.
