UN Security Council Press Elements on Yemen

On 10 September, the members of the Security Council were briefed by the new UN Special Envoy Grundberg alongside OCHA Deputy Director Mudawi and General Guha. Entesar Al-Qadhi, Executive Director of the Marib Girls Foundation for Development, briefed the Council on the peacebuilding efforts of Yemeni women and the challenges women and girls face in Marib.
The members of the Security Council welcomed the appointment of Hans Grundberg as UN Special Envoy. They reiterated their expectation that the parties continue to engage and meet with the UN Special Envoy and with each other under UN auspices, in good faith and without preconditions.
